Becoming a Member
If you want to try a class with a view to becoming a member then give our dance worker Kelly a call on 0141 559 4930. Once you have tried the class out, we will let you know the availability of spaces on your preferrred day. Thereafter, all you have to do is register as a member of Indepen-dance by filling in our membership form:
As a member of Indepen-dance you will receive:
- A discounted weekly fee of £3 per class or £4 per class for those outwith the Glasgow City boundary (due to funding subsidies)
- 10% off class fees for members attending 3 or more classes a week
- A quarterly newsletter.
- 10% off the cost of all training events
For Adults: The annual membership fee is £20.00 per individual or £50.00 for a group of 3 This fee contributes to the core running costs of the organisation.
To ensure our classes have the required number of participants, memberships must be paid no later than 31st January each year. If payment is not made by this time, we cannot guarantee availability as we will open up spaces to others on our waiting lists. As is stated in our handbook, we can only take 25 people in each dance session. This includes 5 wheelchair users per one hourly class.
For Youth & Children’s Classes: The annual membership fee is £10.00 per individual.
Due to a reduction in our grant from Glasgow City Council we have had to introduce a class fee for all members. A charge of £3.00 per person, per class is applicable for all those living in Glasgow and £4.00 per person, per class for those living outwith Glasgow (as we have less subsidy outwith Glasgow). As part of your membership package we have kept these prices as low as possible.
Any paying members who attend 3 or more classes in a week will receive a 10% discount.
