Simon will share practices that propose ways to collaborate tenderly with our environment, the materials around us and each other. There will be opportunities to work solo and collectively, to leave the studio to work outdoors and to return to develop dance scores with found materials; co-
creating precarious environments in which to move.
Over the last 16 years Simon has located much of his practice in the valley close to his rural home. Walking and encountering places, objects and events, he responds physically, making performances on foot, often fleeting, ephemeral and playful.
He recently developed ‘studies’, a gallery performance with a table, exploring remembrance and the often out of balance, transient relationships between body, object and sound.
Simon is a Movement Artist. Based in Rural Wales for the last 24 years, his works respond to circumstance through movement and image and may manifest as solo actions or social choreographies, often working with the public, other artists, animals and places.
